Le Cirque owner favors fast food over fine dining

Nation's Restaurant News,  Feb 4, 2008  by Elissa Elan

PARK CITY, UTAH -- Sirio Maccioni may be a man of the people, but he still has a taste for the food of a king, Burger King that is.

Maccioni, the owner of renowned New York eatery Le Cirque, recently visited the Sundance Film Festival here and got so hungry he decided to stop off for a bite. The restaurateur, however, eschewed the fine-dining establishments in the area for a simpler repast; he had his driver take him over to the local BK so he could order a chicken sandwich, the New York Post reported.

"He's so down to earth, he just doesn't make a fuss," a source told the Post after learning about Maccioni's fast-food foray.
