Nation's Restaurant News, Dec 22, 2003
You know those pharmaceutical TV commercials in which a voice-over explains what the drug is, what it does and how to use it? Consider this a print version of the same type of advertising. Ruby Tuesday introduces its low-carbohydrate menu by using a lot of copy to describe its Smart Eating menu, making sure it tells how fried food now is cooked in more healthful oil and selling the idea that diners can eat well and remain faithful to their diets. The "feel good about yourself" line really is the hook, because who doesn't want to feel good about himself? This ad appears in such national publications as People and Parade.
"AdWatch" submissions should be either proofs, prints or stills of a new print, direct-mail or television advertisement for a restaurant or restaurant chain, with accompanying information on the responsible agency name, if any, and the media time and placement schedule. Submissions should be sent to: Gregg Cebrzynski, Marketing Editor, Nation's Restaurant News, 444 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1070, Chicago, IL 60611.
