Tabasco drinker hot to hold new record for sauce consumption

TEA, S.D. -- A local man here may be the new world record holder for swallowing Tabasco hot sauce, the Associated Press reported.

Levi Johnson recently drank 5.5 ounces of the hot sauce, which is the equivalent of approximately three bottles, in 30 seconds.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the previous record holder drank 5.07 ounces of the stuff.

Guinness publishers are verifying Johnson's feat before declaring him the winner.
