BK licenses brand for retail food product line

Nation's Restaurant News,  Nov 27, 2006

MIAMI -- Burger King Corp. is lending its name for use on snacks, ice creams and other retail foods under a licensing agreement disclosed with Broad Street Licensing Group, which earlier had been granted the same sort of licensing rights to the chain's BK Joe coffee brand name.

The new deal will put the Burger King brand and logo on foods not sold in the chain's restaurants, according to Montvale, N.J.-based Broad Street. The agency said it was looking to put the BK Joe name on such grocery store products as bottled coffee, beans, ground coffee, coffee soda and confections.
