Stephenson, Vasan buy Rankin-Delux

ST. LOUIS -- Ed Stephenson, former Rankin-Delux general manager of operations, and L. Vasan, owner of Royal Range, have acquired Rankin-Delux Inc. Founded in 1966 by Bill Rankin, Rankin-Delux is one of the largest suppliers of commercial underfired broilers. It was acquired in 1992 by co-owners Richard "Dick" Jones and his wife, Peggy. When Dick Jones passed away in 2005, his wife took over as chief executive.

"I think it's great that we were able to keep Rankin-Delux 'in the family,' as Ed has been with us for over 16 years and Vasan has been a longtime friend and new-product consultant to the company," Peggy Jones said.

Rankin-Delux makes more than 200 models of broilers, 100 models of griddles and other types of commercial cooking equipment.
