Z'Tejas Southwestern Grills across the western United States held their annual Chile Fest fundraising campaign recently, raising nearly $20,000 for many charitable causes, said the company's president, Steven Micheletti. Funds were raised via sales of specially designated menu items over a three-week period and by donations made at special events like cooking demonstrations and a "three-alarm firehunk" bachelor auction ' where firefighters put themselves up for bid. Beneficiaries at the third annual event included the Costa Mesa Firefighters Widow's and Orphans Fund in California; Sustainable Food Center in Texas; Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas; Boys & Girls Clubs of East Valley in Arizona; Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Arizona; Hopelink Community Action Center in Washington; and various nonprofit programs supported by the Salt Lake City Fire Department in Utah.
