La Jolla chefs raise money for academy

LA JOLLA, CALIF. -- The Marine Room restaurant here hosted the La Jolla Chef Dinner Oct. 10 to raise $4,080 for the San Pasqual Academy. Marine Room executive chef Bernard Guillas and chef de cuisine Ron Oliver were joined by Michele, Don and Annemarie Coulon of Michele Coulon Dessertier; Evan Cruz of Roy's La Jolla; Tony DiSalvo of Jack's La Jolla; Trey Foshee of George's California Modern; Jesse Frost of Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa; Jeff Jackson of The Lodge at Torrey Pines; Ryan Johnston of Fresh[er]; Jason Knibb of Nine-Ten; Damaso Lee of Trattoria Acqua; and Stephen Window of Roppongi.

The San Pasqual Academy, located in Escondido, Calif., is one of the first residential education campuses designed specifically for foster teens in the nation. It is developing a one-acre student and community garden and starting a 20-acre student farm.
