Aramark hosts international guest chefs at United Nations

NEW YORK -- Aramark Corp., the contract foodservice conglomerate based in Philadelphia, recently held its 13th Annual International Guest Chef event at the United Nations featuring the global cuisine of chefs employed at the company's numerous accounts both in the United States and abroad.

The event, held in New York Oct. 18, showcased a variety of foods from Asia, Europe and the Americas that were created by a team of 26 chefs from Aramark accounts around the world and made with locally sourced, sustainable, organic ingredients.

Menu items included organic turkey a with cranberry mostarda and crispy t sage; northeast lobster and corn chowder with homemade smoked bacon; Chilean Angus beef empanadas and heirloom apple cobbler with caramel ice cream and chestnut honey from the Americas, Long Island Sound oysters with caviar and fresh wasabi granita; shabu shabu of natural beef with black sesame sauce and scallions as well as sushi and sashimi from Asia; and handcarved Spanish Serrano ham, homemade pumpkin-ricotta gnocchi with truffle sauce, Shepherd's Pie with natural lamb, miniature traditional European pastries and hand-crafted Belgian chocolates from Europe.
