MCD franchisee among 3 joining IFA diversity institute

WASHINGTON -- McDonald's franchisee Phil Wilkins, chief executive of Rising Star Inc., an operator of four restaurants in Lexington, Ky., is one of three business leaders to join the board of directors for the International Franchise Association's Diversity Institute here.

Wilkins is a business book author and speaker and consultant on diversity and economic empowerment. Other elected board members are David "Corky" Calhoun, recruiting manager for ExxonMobil Corp., and Clyde Jones, vice president and chief diversity officer for ADP Small Business Services.

The institute promotes and fosters diversity and inclusion within the franchising community and provides information to assist IFA members in expanding their diversity recruitment and multi-cultural marketing efforts.
