PORTLAND, ORE. -- Elmer's Restaurants Inc. said chief executive William W. Service, resigned for personal reasons effective Nov. 1 but would continue to serve as a "strategic advisor" to the 31-unit chain operator and franchisor.
In a filing with securities regulators, the parent of the 31-unit Elmer's family-style chain said chairman and president Bruce N. Davis will take over the CEO post.
Separately, Elmer's said it expected to report higher second-quarter and year-to-date earnings for the first half ended Oct. 23 when it releases its financial results Nov. 28.
In addition to its namesake chain, which includes 21 franchised branches, Elmer's owns five Mitzel's American Kitchen units and 13 other delicatessen-style restaurants in Oregon.
