Bojangles' takes the Hollywood route with 'Dukes' TV spot

Nation's Restaurant News,  Oct 15, 2007

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits, based here, debuted a second round of movie-parody commercials featuring Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme and wide receiver Steve Smith.

The players appear in "Dukes of Chicken," a takeoff on "The Dukes of Hazzard," as a couple of good or boys speeding along in a souped-up car decked out with a huge chicken head and tail, blowing up a shed with explosive footballs and evading a police officer.

They first appeared in a Bojangles' spot titled "Show Me the Chicken," a parody of "Jerry Maguire," in 2005.

Eric Mower and Associates of Charlotte created the campaign for the 386-unit chain.
