Edie Ames, president of Morton's The Steakhouse, and Klaus Fritsch, the chain's co-founder, present a $162,325 donation to the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Accepting the check are Roxanne Charles, the IRAEF's executive director, and Maggie McLafferty, the organization's chairwoman.

Dakota Nank, left, and Raul Flores attended a recent charity bowl-a-thon held by the Jack in the Box Foundation in El Cajon, Calif. The event raised $60,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and proceeds will benefit Operation Bigs, a program at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base that provides mentors for children whose parents are deployed overseas.
