MT. STERLING, ILL. -- The redistributor Dot Foods, based here, has purchased some of the assets of Empire Beef & Redistribution Company of Rochester, N.Y. Empire recently had filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection from creditors. The commodity meat product line will provide a new category for Dot.
Empire had served customers in 20 states.
