Nation's Restaurant News, Jan 15, 2007
PLANO, TEXAS -- Bennigan's Grill & Tavern, based here, is upgrading its burgers and steaks by using 100-percent Angus beef. In addition, the 310-unit casual-dining chain is debuting a limited-time Chipotle Burger, featuring avocado, chipotle-glazed onions, bacon and Cheddar cheese; and Burger Bites, which includes four miniature burgers topped with American cheese. Both are served with seasoned fries. Prices were not available by presstime.
"Our burgers are a cornerstone of the Bennigan's menu, and we want to bring our guests an even higher quality product," said Clay Dover, executive vice president and chief concept officer for Metromedia Casual Dining, a division of Metromedia Restaurant Group, which is the parent of Bennigan's. Metromedia Restaurant Group also operates or franchises the brands Steak and Ale, Ponderosa Steakhouse, Bonanza Steakhouse and The Plano Tavern.
