Nation's Restaurant News, Jan 15, 2007
NEW PORT RICHEY, FLA. -- Merrychef USA, a subsidiary of Enodis PLC, said it would become the supplier of choice of accelerated cooking ovens for Global Hyatt Corp.'s newest brand, Hyatt Place.
According to the agreement, Merrychef, which is based here, will provide several Model 402(S) ovens for each property. Hyatt Place Hotels is expected to have 120 units in the United States by the end of this year.
In addition, Hyatt Place Hotels will feature other Enodis brands, including Jackson ware-washing equipment, Lincoln Foodservice Impingement Ovens, Delfield refrigeration products and Ice-O-Matic ice machines.
"Hyatt Place is revolutionary on many levels, and one of its most innovative components is the food and beverage program," said John Vogelmeier, director of food and beverage operations for Select Hotels Group LLC, another Global Hyatt Corp. subsidiary. "Because of that we needed to make sure we chose the best partner to deliver on the array of high-quality food items we offer our guests, and we're confident we made the right choice with Merrychef."
Dave McCulloch, chief executive of Enodis, said: "This opportunity shows the power of our strategy to provide our customers with kitchen equipment solutions that enable unique consumer experiences. We believe that accelerated cooking technology will dramatically shape the future demand of new cooking equipment."
