KFC does 'scent-focused' debut for '$2.99 deals'

Nation's Restaurant News,  Sept 10, 2007

LOUISVILLE, KY. -- KFC introduced a new line of bargain-priced meals in a "scent-focused" marketing stunt in which the "$2.99 Deals" were delivered to office workers in three cities.

The Yum! Brands Inc. division launched the meals by delivering them on rolling carts during pre-lunch mail drops to employees at the Salvation Army offices in Chicago, at Chemistry.com in Dallas and at the Trade Association & Society Consultants in Washington, D.C.

The $2.99 Deals include a chicken breast, a drumstick and a thigh, or two Crispy Strips, plus a side item and biscuit.
