Nation's Restaurant News, June 25, 2007
ATLANTA -- Arby's Restaurant Group Inc. has claimed a first as the only national fast-food chain to have eliminated trans fats from its French fries through oil changes by its supplier and its restaurants.
Arby's said its completed rollout of a nonhydrogenated corn oil had cut trans-fat content per serving of chicken items or fries to less than 0.5 grams. However, a large order of the chain's Curly Fries still contains 1 gram of trans fat, versus 6 grams previously.
The franchisor owns more than 1,000 of the chain's nearly 3,600 restaurants.
