Fado Irish pubs take some off the top for charity

Nation's Restaurant News,  June 25, 2007

ATLANTA -- Fado Irish Pub and Restaurant locations played host to the St. Baldrick's Foundation during special events over the St. Patrick's Day season. The events, organized by local affiliates of the St. Baldrick's Foundation, raised more than $525,000 during 'shavee' events at seven of Fado's12 locations. At the events participants raised money by having their heads shaved bald. All proceeds go to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises money for children's cancer research.

"We are privileged that the local St. Baldrick's organizations choose Fado each year to host these events to benefit children's cancer research," said Kieran McGill, chief executive of Fado Pubs Inc. "We have enthusiastically supported St. Baldrick's at Fado, and it continues to grow each year."
