Pollos Del Centro obtains Church's rights for Denver

Nation's Restaurant News,  June 25, 2007

DENVER -- Pollos Del Centro, a Laredo, Texas-based company, has secured franchise rights to build 20 Church's Chicken restaurants in the Denver metropolitan area by 2013, with the first two expected to open by year-end.

Pollos' market territory includes the Denver suburbs of Aurora, Commerce City and Lakewood, and the city of Colorado Springs.

The new franchisee is a subsidiary of Texas-based Exelco Inc., owned by Ricardo Longoria. He also owns the Alfri-Loder Group, a Nuevo Laredo, Mexico-based company with businesses in the foodservice, automotive, butane, transportation and real estate industries that reportedly generate annual gross sales of around $140 million.

Church's, based in Atlanta, has systemwide sales exceeding $1 billion and more than 1,600 locations in 18 countries.
