Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedHot over chili sauce, customer shoots Wendy's manager in arm
Nation's Restaurant News, June 11, 2007 by Elissa Elan
MIAMI -- Crime doesn't pay, and neither does trying to protect your chili sauce.
At least that's what one Wendy's fastfood restaurant manager learned recently when a drive-thru customer argued with the eatery's staff after unsuccessfully demanding more packets of the condiment.
According to the Associated Press, the customer, who asked for 10 packets of the sauce, was told it was restaurant policy to give out a maximum of three per order. Though the employee finally complied and gave the patron the 10 packets he originally requested, he then said he wanted even more chili sauce. The manager came out to talk to the man, who replied by shooting him in the arm before fleeing in his vehicle with a female passenger.
The manager was taken to the hospital where he was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Mustard, anyone?
