Beef 'O' Brady's awards $40k in scholarships to hourly employees

Nation's Restaurant News,  June 4, 2007

TAMPA, FLA. -- Beef'O' Brady's, a 220-unit chain of family sports pubs based here, has awarded $40,000 in scholarships to 40 of its hourly workers. Including this donation, the chain has given more than $100,000 to employees.

The scholarships were available to all Beef'O' Brady's employees who work 20 or more hours per week. Candidates submitted academic transcripts, a letter of recommendation from their unit's owner or general manager, and two essays.

"A significant number of our servers, hosts and other employees are working their way through school by working at Beef'O' Brady's, and we're always looking for ways to help out," said Nick Vojnovic, president of the chain's parent company, Family Sports Concepts.
