BK adding to QSR field's slew of new drinks, treats

Nation's Restaurant News,  May 21, 2007

MIAMI -- Burger King is adding several cold beverages and dessert treats, including three marketed in partnership with other brands. The limited-time offerings are the Oreo BK Sundae Shake, to be served with an oversized "BK Pipe Straw," starting June 4; a berry-flavored ICEE Float frozen drink, debuting June 25; and the Butterfinger Pie, starting July 2. The products range from $1.49 to $2.39, varying by portion size.

Burger King also is testing soft-serve ice cream, including a Warm Brownie Sundae and a chocolate-dipped vanilla soft serve cone, said John Schaulfelberger, the chain's vice president of product marketing and innovation. The chain's new Sweet Mocha BK Joe Iced Coffee recently was rolled out for a limited time.
