DEERFIELD, ILL. -- Cosi, the fast-casual concept based here, recently rolled out a line of three salads featuring low- or no-fat dressing and a new sandwich as part of a limited-time offering.
The new Jamaican Jerk Chicken Sandwich features pineapple salsa and mango chutney.
One of the new salads, made with toasted fennel and tandoori chicken, features low-fat pomegranate dressing as well as cucumbers, carrots and mixed greens. Another healthful new option, a cracked wheat salad, includes slivered almonds, sliced apples, dried cranberries, raisins, carrots, romaine and fat-free balsamic vinaigrette. Lastly, a bruschetta salad debuted with grilled chicken, fresh basil, cannellini beans, tomatoes, Romano cheese, mixed greens and fat-free balsamic dressing.
The new items vary in price from $6.59 and $7.79. Cosi, whose signature is flat bread baked in house, has 111 company owned and 19 franchise restaurants.
