Papa John's inks pacts for fivefold growth in Canada

LOUISVILLE, KY. -- Papa John's International Inc. has signed four franchisee groups to agreements calling for them to open 57 new Papa John's Pizza units throughout Canada.

PJ Atlantic Franchising Ltd. would open 20 units; MJ Taylor Holding Co. would open 10; Bajco LLC would open 15; and PDR Associates Inc. would open 12 locations.

Each group would develop at least one unit this year, expanding the 3,200-plus-unit chain's current 14-unit presence in Canada, Papa John's officials indicated.
