Lawson: Jack in the Box automating HR processes

SAN DIEGO -- Jack in the Box Inc., based here, is leveraging its Lawson Human Capital Management software by automating paper-based processes to help administer annual benefits enrollment and paycheck distribution for the franchisor's nearly 45,000 employees, Lawson Software indicated.

St. Paul, Minn.-based Lawson said Jack in the Box, operator or franchisor of the 2,088-unit namesake quick-service chain, 344 Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurants and 57 Quick Stuff convenience stores, licensed its Employee and Manager Self-Service and ProcessFlow Integrator applications.

Lawson sources said that once Jack in the Box deploys the new software, its employees would have self-service access to view and maintain their own human-resources information. Jack in the Box also would then be able to replace paper paychecks with plastic "pay cards" that employees can redeem for cash at local banks or use like a debit card, thereby lowering costs by eliminating the need to print, cut and distribute paper paychecks.
