Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedNoodle stand curries no favor by serving rat in a pot
Nation's Restaurant News, April 9, 2007 by Elissa Elan
TOKYO -- And you thought the rat-infested KFC-Taco Bell location in New York had problems.
A pot of curry was boiled up at a noodle stand here recently and fed to 18 people. The only problem was the pot contained a rat in addition to curry.
According to news reports, the manager of the stand said the 3-inch-long rat got mixed into the curry when the sauce was put into the pot.
The shop, located in JR ShinKoiwa Station, immediately was shuttered, and the operator said all money would be returned to those customers who contacted the business.
No one who ate at the stand has complained of any health problems to date.
