Nation's Restaurant News,  April 2, 2007

MANITOWOC, WIS. -- The Manitowoc Foodservice Group, a subsidiary of The Manitowoc Co., based here, has named Michael J. Kachmer president. He succeeds Timothy J. Kraus, who retired late last year after 18 years with the company.

Kachmer, 48, most recently served as chief operating officer at Culligan International Co., where he also held several other executive positions since joining the company in 2000. In addition, Kachmer has held executive and operations posts at other global manufacturing companies, including Ball Corp. and Firestone Tire and Rubber.

Kachmer earned a bachelor of science degree from Brown University and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Pittsburgh.

"Mike brings an outstanding professional background to the FoodserviceGroup," said Terry Growcock, the company's chairman and chief executive. "His combinations of operations, marketing and finance skills area a great fit for this position. In particular, Mike's experience in using the 'voice of the customer' process to deliver solutions to the restaurant, health care and other commercial markets will add immediate value to the Foodservice Group."

Kachmer said, "The legacy of innovation, service, and value that Terry and Tim have established will serve as an excellent platform to grow Manitowoc Foodservice Group into new markets."
