Shells names CFO Nelson to replace CEO Christon

Nation's Restaurant News,  March 17, 2008

TAMPA, FLA. -- Warren Nelson, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Shells Seafood Restaurants Inc., was named interim president as Leslie Christon relinquished her duties as president and chief executive to seek opportunities outside the company, the operator of 23 casual-dining restaurants said in a statement.

Christon joined Shells in July 2003 as president and CEO after a brief detour into the retail industry as president and chief operating officer of Sutton Place Gourmet Inc. Earlier, she was president of On The Border, the Tex-Mex casual-dining division of Brinker International Inc. She has also worked for the Red Lobster and El Chico chains.
