Fredhots and Fries celebrates Iditarod with rollout of Reindeer Hot Dog

GLENVIEW, ILL. -- Fredhots and Fries sandwich shop here has reintroduced its Reindeer Hot Dog in honor of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in Alaska.

The hot dog is served with grilled onions and mustard and costs $8. The hot dog will be offered for the duration of the race, which was scheduled to begin March 3 and last for 10 to 17 days.

Fredhots, named for owner Fred Markoff, serves traditional Chicago-style hot dogs but also features sausages made from venison, alligator and elk.
