CVS has agreed to buy Soma.com, an on-line pharmacy with over 3,000 items, for $30 million. CVS has plans to expand the offering of over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and health and beauty products as well as its private label lines and photofinishing services. CVS also intends to offer personal services such as health pages, tailored management programs and health assessment services.
The acquisition is slated to be completed in June.
