Reincarnation Watch Fails After Four Days
Skeptical Inquirer, Nov, 2000 by Kendrick Frazier
Would she come back to life? The sister and friends of a woman who died in a Santa Fe, New Mexico, apartment August 9 kept her in a room for four days, hoping she would come back to life in reincarnated form.
"They all believe in spiritual healing and they were all waiting for that healing to occur through reincarnation," said Deputy Police Chief Beverly Lennen.
"They believed that their religion rather than medication would heal them," Lennen said. "Upon the one female's death, they gave her a period for reincarnation to occur, and when that did not occur, they notified us."
The dead woman was Linda Washburn, 50. Her 52-year-old sister called police on August 13, four days after the death.
