And the winner is …
Science World, March 6, 2006
This bug has a new nickname: sunset bug. A 14-year-old boy from Missouri, Eric A., suggested the name in the Science Explorations' name-a-bug challenge (SW 11/14/05). Eric says the colors on the male plant bug (a particular group of insects) resemble a setting sun. Randall Toby Schuh, an insect scientist from the American Museum of Natural History, selected Eric's entry as the new common name for Aurantiocoris cuneotinctus.
Congratulations!
