Can't we all just get a log?

The phrase "log cabin gays no longer need refer only to Republicans. North Carolina-based Log Homes for Us is actively marketing do-it-yourself log cabin homes to gays and lesbians. "No one was catering to the gay community," says company founder Justin Porter, 27, who is gay, "so I thought, Let's do it!"
With nearly a hundred homes sold in the first two months--80% to lesbian couples in rural areas--Log Homes for Us hopes to sell 600 this year, about one sixth of the business of its parent company, the Original Log Cabin Homes Ltd.
Delivered as numbered pieces on a flatbed truck, the homes are as easy to assemble as old-fashioned toy Lincoln Logs, Porter says, adding, "If you can count, you can put it together."
