LISA BROWAR is University Librarian at New School University in New York City. She received certification as a fund-raising manager from The Fundraising School at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University-Purdue University, and is currently a candidate for the Executive Master of Arts Degree in Philanthropic Studies at IUPUI. She is coeditor of RBM: A Journal of Rare Books, Manuscripts, and Cultural Heritage and has taught special collections library management in the School of Library and Information Science at Indiana University, Bloomington.
SAMUEL A. STREIT is Associate University Librarian for Special Collections at Brown University where he has administrative responsibility for the library system's rare book, manuscript, and graphic collections and the University Archives. As of 2003 he also is administratively responsible for the collection development and management of the Brown Library's general collections. Over the years he has served as the library's primary liaison with the Brown Development Office, where his duties have ranged from prospect screening and cultivation to donor stewardship.
