In the line of duty - Letters to the editor
Humanist, July-August, 2002 by Robert E. Grossman
In "An Example of Military Justice" ("Watch on the Right," March/April 2002), John Swomley omits one salient fact in regard to Dr. Yolanda Huet-Vaughn's refusal to mobilize during the Gulf War. She accepted payments and retirement benefits paid for by taxpayers in the course of voluntarily serving in the National Guard. By doing so, she voluntarily gave up her ability to select where and when she would perform that service. She should have thought of that before joining the Guard.
