For first time in 50 years Black stars dominate Billboard's Top 10 chart for

For the first time in the 50-year history Billboard's single charts, all top 10 songs are by Black recording stars.

Billboard, the trade magazine for the music industry, compiles charts of the nation's best-selling recorded music in all genres. With the exception of superstar Beyonce's No. 1 song, Baby Boy, featuring Sean Paul, the other nine songs are by rappers, demonstrating hip hop's dominant popularity.

The tunes are on The Billboard Hot 100 (Oct. 11 issue), which measures the popularity of songs from every pop format and is compiled from a national sample of sales reports and radio playlists.
