Slide of the year contest - Photojournalism - Brief Article

The crowning glory of the Interclub Slide competitions is the Slide of the Year contest. All of the award winning slides, including HMs, from the four rounds of competition are (can be) re-entered and judged to select an overall winner, who receives a PSA Photojournalism Gold Medal Plaque. The slide of the year plaque for 2002-2003 goes to Andrew C. Katsampes, of Greater Lynn, for "Merrimack Defense." Second place was won by John C. Fuller, FPSA, also of Greater Lynn, for "Facing the Fire"; Third Place also went to Andrew Katsampes, Greater Lynn, for "Myopia Cross." Two Honorable Mentions were awarded to Gerald Emmerich, FPSA, EPSA, Image Makers, for "Getting Back Above Water" and to Robert Schaap, Image Makers, for "Ferris Wheel with Lightning."
The Slide of the Year winners were presented in Houston.
