Jean E. Thomson, FPSA - Obituaries - Brief Article - Obituary

Miss Jean E. Thomson, FPSA, of Tacoma, Washington passed away July 14th at the age of 81. Services were held July 26th in Tacoma. She was born in Minneapolis in 1922 and worked there before moving to Illinois, California and then Washington state. She worked as a writer, accountant, and educational film producer.

Jean joined the Photographic Society of America in February of 1973. She was elected an Associate in 1985 and became a Fellow in 1990 at the Nashville conference. Miss Thomson served the Puget Sound Chapter in various positions and was the Chapter Chairman for two terms. Most well known in the Society for serving as PSA Treasurer from 1986-1995, she earned two Silver Editorial stars for her writing in the PSA Journal.

Jean Thomson is survived by five cousins and the children of long-time friends Carol Zajac and Doris Polkey.
