PSA print gallery

PSA Journal,  Nov, 2005  by John Streich

Members of Photographic Society of America (PSA) Chapters have had the privilege of displaying their art for the last fifteen years in the reception area of PSA Headquarters. Each Chapter's exhibit hangs for three months and several of the Chapters have exhibited multiple times. The last quarter of each year is now scheduled for the Youth Showcase, directed by Kathy Braun, APSA. That display is one of creativity and originality. It was shown at the Salt Lake Conference before hanging in Oklahoma City. Prints from the Yerba Buena Chapter just completed a showing at PSA Headquarters and they will be followed by the Youth Exhibition. In 2006 the first quarter belongs to the Central Florida Chapter, the second quarter the Wisconsin Chapter and the third the Gold Rush Chapter. The final display in 2006 will again be the Youth exhibition. Reservations for 2007 can be made by calling me at (303) 429-8178, by Email at j3streich@aol.com or by writing me at 7144 Winona Ct. Westminster, CO 80030-5883.

There are few restrictions on the prints to be hung they may be color or monochrome, commercial or home processed, digital or film, large or small, straight or manipulated. They should not have been previously shown in this program. Each printmaker receives a certificate of thanks for their presentation. Contact the Director for detailed instructions for your presentation.

Annually pictures of the displays have been published in the PSA Journal In the past, pictures of the displays for publication have been prepared by the chapters but this was difficult because they had no method of hanging the prints vertically resulting in background and parallax problems. Members of the Oklahoma City Camera Club have generously volunteered to make digital images of the displays as they are hanging at PSA Headquarters.
