Riders On The Storm

Interview,  Nov, 2000

It's not often that an internationally renowned museum hands over its halls to honor the work of an internationally renowned fashion designer. But that's exactly what New York's Guggenheim Museum is doing through January 17, 2001, for its GIORGIO ARMANI exhibition. The mega-show, which marks the designer's twenty-five years in the business, will be much more than a retrospective of his pieces. It will be a true spectacle, thanks to a collaboration with theatrical director and visual artist Robert Wilson.

At Interview,, we thought that merited a party. So we put together a posse, dressed them in Armani, and hit a couple of New York's favorite saloons, Canteen and Pastis. The night riders: Third Eye Blind's STEPHAN JENKINS; up-and-coming actors VERA FARMIGA and SHANE WEST; MTV's The Real World's DANNY ROBERTS; rock's new wonder KINA; hot models MISSY RAYDER and COLIN EGGLESFIELD; and Destiny's Child singer BEYONCE KNOWLES. As you can see, on the pages that follow, nothing--not even pouring rain--stood in the way.
