A year and a half ago, the film industry was caught off guard by the arrival of the most successfuln low-budget indie of all time, The Blair Witch Project. Who could have guessed that a $40,000 homemade horror film with purposely poor production values could have reaped $200 million worldwide at the box office? With that kind of blowout, there was bound to be a sequel.
And here it is: The Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2. The question is, will this installment be anywhere near as profitable as the first or will it die a death worse than some of its characters? Time will tell. But to mark the arrival of Blair Witch 2, Interview asked photographer Duane Michals to create one of his haunting narratives using the movie's cast.
