Dear Interview,

I read with delight Carl Reiner's interview with Ellen Barkin [June 2007]. There is such easy fun in their conversation as they navigate a tale of family and career. Reading the piece, I felt as if I were watching them, which is one of the reasons I like the interview format--when it works, there is that kind of intimacy. Their conversation became a kind of visual experience for me that I credit to the liveliness of their banter, to their quick interchanges, and to the natural flow they had with each other.
