Twista: The Day After

Interview,  Oct, 2005  by Rashaun Hall

After years of grinding as an MC's MC, Twista hit the mainstream last year with Kamikaze, thanks in part to the Jamie Foxx and Kanye West-featured smash "Slow Jamz." Known for rapid-fire rhymes, he doesn't disappoint with this follow-up. On "Girl Tonite," he spins a quick-tongued erotic tale that would make a stripper blush over a sample of Ready for the World's R&B classic "Tonight." For loyalists, he spits a hardcore flow on the pimped-out "Holding Down the Game." He even dabbles in screwed music--hip-hop's hottest new sound.

With guest appearances from Pharrell Williams and Foxx, The Day After is a good one for Twista.
