Larry Flynt, proprietor of Hustler magazine, generously donated $1,000 to Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign

National Review,  Nov 21, 2005

Larry Flynt, proprietor of Hustler magazine, generously donated $1,000 to Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign. Given what we know about the goings-on in the Clinton White House, it's not hard to understand why Leisure-Suit Larry might feel a bond of sympathy with the Clintons. Alas, within a month of receiving the check, Mrs.

Clinton returned it. "It's unbelievable," Flynt told Newsday. "But I'm used to this kind of hypocrisy." The way Mrs. Clinton's career is advancing, we'd all better get used to it. Flynt, in any case, is nursing hurt feelings, and says he's thinking of becoming a Republican. If we may presume to speak for Republicans at large, this comes under the heading "unwelcome compliments." The phrase "Republican pornographer" just refuses to trip lightly off the tongue.
