Don't just write mesay something!
USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education), July, 2007
Although most adults find it difficult to sit through movies such as "Napoleon Dynamite" or cable TV's "Family Guy" show, the teen demographic can't get enough. So, the Talking Pens ($4.99-$6.99) from JDK Products, Largo, Fla., are right up their alley.
Featuring characters such as Nacho Libre ("Yes. It is true. I am Nacho") and Napoleon Dynamite ("Sweet" and "Lucky"), each pen utters six or seven sayings from the movie. The "Family Guy" line showcases the quirky characters of Stewie, Peter, Brian (the talking dog), and Quagmire, spouting things like "Allllrrrright!," "If I could rearrange the alphabet, I'd put 'U' and 'I' together;' and "You must be a parking ticket, cause you got 'fine' written all over you." And don't forget about the Shrek 3 pen that was released with the newest edition of the movie.
In addition to the Talking Pens, there also are Talking Dolls--six-inch figures standing on a base with a button to push to hear phrases from movies. Although the line generally is aimed at the teen and tween market, the Talking Andy Doll is based on the "R" rated movie "The 40-Year-Old Virgin."
Talking Pens and Dolls are available at mass merchandisers. For more information, visit www.funtalking.com.
