Dynamite makes plants explode with growth

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education),  March, 2007

While we all may know that trees, shrubs, flowers, and vegetable plants should be fertilized in order to thrive, for many of us, it's an overwhelming project. We just don't feel confident in our knowledge of when and how to feed our plants, and are afraid that, if we do it wrong, the vegetation will incur more harm than good. Actually, though, just the opposite is true--if you don't feed your green friends, they'll likely starve to death.

Dynamite Premium Fertilizers from Florikan, Sarasota, Fla., take the guesswork out of this task. With a time-released formula, plants need to be fed just once a growing season. Specifically blended for warm, mild, and cool regions, each feeding will last up to nine months. When used on indoor plants and in soil temperatures less than 70[degrees], Dynamite will last more than one year.

The formula contains macro and micro nutrients. The primary (or macro) nutrients--nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium--usually are lacking from the soil first because plants use large amounts for their growth and survival. Additionally, though, Dynamite contains micronutrients such as copper (important for reproductive growth and proper root metabolism), boron (for development of seed and fruit), and iron (essential for formation of chlorophyll).

The release agent in the coating is designed to react with soil temperature and other climatic factors to initiate the dispersement through micro pores in the entire will. The soil receives the right amount of nutrients when they are needed, enabling the plant to absorb most of the them, minimizing run-oft of excess fertilizer into groundwater, rivers, and bays. Also, it is low in phosphate and does not contain urea.

Available in two formulas: Flowers & Vegetables consisting of NPK 13-13-13, and All-Purpose 18-6-8 for indoor and outdoor plants. Just sprinkle the proper quantity on the surface of the soil around an established plant and water thoroughly. For transplants and new plantings, shake some Dynamite into the hole and water. Repeat in about nine to 12 months.

Dynamite ($4.97 for one pound, $8.99 for two pounds) is available at garden centers and mass merchandisers. Visit www.dynamiteplantfood.com for more information.
