I'll take my seat medium well-done

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education),  March, 2007

While it may feel like spring is in the air--though somedays only through wishful thinking--save for a few gems here and there, we still have some time to go before the warm weather truly is upon us. At no time is this more apparent than when we are at one of the kids' early morning sporting events. Whoever thought up the idea of metal bleachers certainly never sat on them in the cold.

We've found a way to save our sanity--and bottom--on these frigid days by toting along the ColdHeat Cordless Heated Seat from Hyperion Innovations, Bellevue, Wash. Made of high-density polyurethane foam, this seat cushion is powered by rechargeable NiMH batteries, and warms quickly to provide up to six hours of comfort. Specifically designed to fit most stadium seats, the ColdHeat is great for watching any outdoor sporting event, as well as for fishing, camping, hunting, etc.

The microprocessor-controlled heating system features three temperature settings and an automatic power-save sensor that reduces energy consumption by turning off the heating element after eight minutes of inactivity. The all-weather fabric cover is water and stain resistant and is removable for washing. The package also includes a shoulder strap and battery charger.

The ColdHeat Cordless Heated Seat ($79.95) is available at The Sharper Image stores and at www.coldheat.com.
