Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education), Jan, 2007
An estimated 72,000 medical emergency room visits occur annually in the U.S. due to snow removal injuries, including overexertion, heart attacks, strokes, back pain, muscle pulls, and snow blower mishaps, reports the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Those numbers are sure to drop, however, if word of a new wheeled snow shovel (called the Wovel) gets out. Its adjustable fulcrum point at the axle allows the device to work like a see-saw, and the three-foot wheel diameter enhances leverage, making it possible to throw three times as much snow as a traditional shovel and easily clear up to two feet of heavy snow or slush.
The Wovel is sturdy but, at 26 pounds, it is easily maneuvered, fully adjustable for user height or any snow conditions, and quickly breaks down for storage. Several accessories are available, including a chipper blade for hard-packed snow and ice; gravel wheels; a replacement wear strip for the shovel blade; and foam grips for added comfort.
Body friendly, environmentally benign, and even fun to use, the Wovel ($119.95) is the perfect snow removal solution. For more information, visit www.wovel.com.
