Pets are a $31,000,000,000 industry in the U.S., with $2,400,000,000 of that going toward non-veterinary services, grooming, and boarding, reports the American Pet Products Manufacturing Association. Pet-owning households will spend an estimated $460 each on their pets this year. Some 62% of American households own a pet.
There are 43,143,848 dog owners in this country with a total of 61,524,900 canines.
