Daredevil video makers can do with helmet cam

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education),  March, 2006

Sports enthusiasts from skateboarders to cyclists to snowboarders now have the ability to make their own sports videos as exciting as anything seen on TV. With the help of the Tony Hawk Helmet Cam from Digital Blue, Atlanta, Ga., athletes can record their speed and stunts and then edit the audio and video on a PC.

The Helmet Cam ($99.99) is a lightweight, self-contained digital camcorder which straps to any helmet. It comes with a 32MB memory card and can record up to 30 minutes of video and sound at the touch of a button--no cords necessary. It features auto focus and 640 x 480 resolution, plus a built-in microphone with a 12' range. Also included is a CD-ROM packed with downloadable tools for adding animation, text credits, and music; editing audio and video; and e-mail and playback. Moreover, the software allows users to edit their own video alongside footage of Tony Hawk and others.
